Roots and Wings Early Years Education and Care is a new purpose built crèche which opened in February 2017 at Beresford, Donabate. The facility is a sister business to the multi award winning Beverton Preschool which has been in operation in Donabate since 2002, Roots & Wings Kindergarten and Afterschool (2021) and most recently Roots & Wings on the green (August 2024).

Nickola and her team aim to ensure that Roots and Wings exemplifies the highest standards of education and care that have been an integral part of the success of Beverton Preschool. Evidence based practice has shaped the environment, the curriculum and the pedagogical approach at Roots & Wings. As experienced and professional Educators the team understand that in order to progress, the arena of early years education and care can no longer rely solely on ideology and shared knowledge but must be also advised by reflective scientific investigation. “Knowledge is created not transmitted” and that is why at Roots & Wings we do not have “Teachers” but instead have adults that support a child to examine, question and expand their knowledge.
